SFD assists SPD With a Bomb Threat

The Salisbury Police Department was notified this morning of a possible bomb placed at The Center at Salisbury. An unidentified individual called police to claim a bomb had been placed outside the mall. Units from SPD, WCSD, MSP, Emergency Management, and the SFD responded. The mall was evacuated and a perimeter established to safeguard the surrounding area. K9 units from the Delaware State Police, Maryland State Police, Annapolis Fire Marshall's Office, Dorchester County, and Dover Air Force Base are being utilized to clear the exterior and interior of the facility. AC Gladwell was dispatched to the scene to serve as part of the Unified Command System and NIMS Coordinator. The facility will remain closed for today and traffic patterns have been altered as a result. Units are expected to be operating on scene until approximately 8 pm.
