Chimney Fire Upgraded To A house Fire
Thursday, March 13, 2014

Around 5pm Truck 1 was dispatched to a chimney fire in the 1000 block of Nevins Place. As Truck 1 turned the corner onto Nevins place the officer of the Truck realized that it was more than a chimney fire and upgraded the call to a structure fire. The crew from Truck 1 went to work opening up walls on the first floor, threw ground ladders to sides A & D and opened up the roof around the chimney. Engine 16 arrived and stretched an attack line through the front door and knocked down the bulk of the fire in the ceiling and walls. Truck 2 arrived and assisted the crews on the roof and threw ground ladders to sides B & C.  A/C 1 arrived and assumed command. The scene was put under control in about 15 min.
