Monday, January 13, 2014

Stations 16,2 and 1 were alerted for a reported apartment fire with entrapment. Assistant Chief 2 (Scott) responded and arrived on location with a working apartment fire with a subject lying out front of the building. Crew of Ambulance16 was instructed to assist the elderly patient who had burns to his face. A-16's crew assessed the patient, but were unable to convince them to go to the hospital. Engine 16 responded and arrived within minutes and was instructed to lay in and pull a line to the front of the structure.  The crew from Truck 2 were given the assignment to ventilate the roof and assist engine 16's crew with extinguishment. Engine 1 was given the assignment to help truck 2 and when complete, to assist the crew of Engine 16. Engine 2 was assigned to find another hydrant and to pull a line to the rear of the structure. Crews continued to extinguish the fire and to assist with overhaul until the incident was brought under control.
