Priscilla St. House Fire On C Shift For All Three Stations
Thursday, January 9, 2014

Stations 2, 16 & 1 were alerted for a house on fire at 510 Priscilla St. Assistant Chief 2 (Scott ) arrived and reported a 2 story wood frame dwelling with smoke showing from the attic area. At the time of the call all three Duty crews were on the scene of other calls throughout the city and were able to clear quickly. Engine 1 arrived and secured a water supply from a hydrant in front of the structure and stretched an attack line to the second floor. Truck 2 arrived soon after and quickly laddered the structure on all sides. Assistant Chief 1 ( Records) arrived and assumed Division 2 fire attack with Engine 1. As members opened up ceilings and walls on the second floor, fire began to burn through the exterior wall on Side D. Truck 2 used saws and hooks to expose the seat of the fire in a void space between the first and second floor. Engine 161 stretched a line into Division 1 and checked for extension. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office investigated the fire and found the cause to be defective wiring.
