Early Morning House Fire on Bailey Lane
Friday, January 10, 2014

Just prior to shift change Friday morning Central alerted Stations 16, 2 and 74 (Delmar) for a reported house fire in the 500 block of Bailey Lane in Salisbury.  While en route, Central advised units responding that the caller stated her bathroom was on fire and that all occupants were out of the house.  AC 1 (Records) arrived to find a small 2 story wood frame dwelling with smoke showing from side B. Upon investigation the fire was burning in an attached pump house on side B and extending into the bathroom. Engine 16-1 arrived and deployed two 150' 1 3/4" lines off of the front bumper to extinguish the fire. Tower 16 split its crew to side B and the first floor to open up and check for extension. Engine 2 arrived, supplied Engine 16-1 and assisted with checking for extension. AC 2 (O'Barsky) shut off the power at the panel box side D. Engine 74 -2 (Delmar) was also used for water supply. Crews quickly isolated the fire to the pump room and exterior wall of the bathroom. Part of the wall on side B was removed due to fire damage. The Red Cross was notified to assist the occupants.
