Commercial Garage Fire - 2020 Windsor Dr

Salisbury Fire Department Stations 2 and 16, and Delmar Station 74 was alerted for a "garage fire" at 2020 Windsor Drive, just after 2017 hours. Command was established by 16A, (O'Barsky). Engine 16 arrived on location to find a single story commercial structure, approximately 200 feet by 60 feet, with black smoke showing from the C side. The crew of Engine 16 established a water source at the hydrant and laid a supply line to the C side. Engine 16 crew deployed 250' of 1 3/4" hose to the front door of the involved unit; part of the crew cut an opening in the roll up door with the K-12 saw and forced entry into an entrance door to the unit. The crew of Engine 2 assisted with a second handline for back-up. Tower 16 was able to make entry through an entrance door on Side A and assist interior crews with ventilation and overhaul. Interior crews were able to determine the fire was actually two vehicles located inthe storage space. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office was requested to respond to the scene. Crews remained on the scene for overhaul and clean-up. One firefighter was transported to the hospital for an arm injury. All other units returned without incident. Photo by: A/Lt. J.
