Tips for Preventing Heat-Related Illness

Drink more fluids (nonalcoholic), regardless of your activity level. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink. Warning: If your doctor generally limits the amount of fluid you drink or has you on water pills, ask him how much you should drink while the weather is hot. For more information on preventing heat-related illness go to Press Release/ Tips for Preventing Heat-Related Illness.

Swimming Safety Tips

There is no substitute for active supervision. Actively supervise children in and around open bodies of water, giving your undivided attention. For more information on Swimming Safety Tips go to Press Release/ Swimming Safety Tips on the website.

As the warmer temperatures are upon us, backyard chefs everywhere are dusting off their grills, eager to spring into the long-awaited barbeque season. Holding a barbecue should be a safe and fun experience for everyone.

Spring Cleaning-Chemical Safety

With the warmer temperatures taking over homeowners are opening up the windows to their houses and letting the fresh air of spring indoors. This time of year many people spend a great deal of time conducting the yearly spring cleaning. We use many chemicals to clean our house and make it smell good, but they can pose a serious heath risk if they are mishandled. For more information on Spring Cleaning-Chemical Safety, go to the Press Release pop up on the left side of the web page.

Spring Cleaning - A Fire Safe Habit

When it’s time for spring cleaning, remember a clean house is a safer house. The Salisbury Fire Department reminds you that trash, boxes, piles of clothes, and other combustibles in the home are fuel for a fire. Getting rid of them will help reduce the chance of a fire in your home. For more information on Fire Safety visit the Press Releases section on the website.
